Associate, Business Management | Investment Banking (New York)
Jefferies is looking for a Business Management Associate for the Global FIG Investment Banking group in New York. This position reports directly to, and partners closely with the COO of Global FIG to support the wider FIG Investment banking team in New York. The role will require extensive interaction with all levels of the FIG team including the senior bankers and other Jefferies coverage and product team bankers across the firm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Global Heads of FIG and the FIG COO in a fast growing and evolving business environment
- Work with senior bankers to track and update our revenue, pipeline and priority targets
- Work will be both on the business and support functions side and will cover, among other things, revenue, wallet and headcount reporting; group presentations; recruiting tracking; staffing reports; and other administration
- Prepare reports and presentations to Investment Banking Management and senior leaders in the Jefferies organization on the group’s revenue, market share and key transactions
- Ad hoc requests from Global Co-Heads of FIG and IB Management
Required Background and Desired Skills:
- Prior experience in banking/finance is preferred
- 3+ years of professional experience in a finance/data driven technical role ideally in an investment banking setting
- Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Dealogic skills
- Experience building and navigating Power BI reports
- An understanding of financial accounting principles; CFA a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to lead a variety of projects for different stakeholders simultaneously
- Resourceful self-starter; able to work autonomously, with minimal guidance
- Team player and ability to confidently work with senior bankers on a daily basis
